Welcome to Northwest Baltimore
Thriving Neighborhoods
Northwest Baltimore spans Baltimore City and County and is home to some of Baltimore's most diverse and vibrant neighborhoods.
Families can choose from a wide range of traditional public schools, charter public, and parochial schools. We are proud to have two newly renovated schools: Arlington Elementary and Pimlico Elementary/Middle School. Construction is currently underway at Cross Country/Elementary Middle School.
Community Associations and faith-based institutions play a prominent role in the community. Area nonprofits At the House, CASA, and the Langston Hughes Community Business Resource Center provide a variety of programs for youth, families, and seniors.
The Pimlico Merchants Association, Park Heights Chamber of Commerce and the Pikesville-Owings Mills Regional Chamber of Commerce convene businesses and organize key projects and activities.
LifeBridge Health/Sinai Hospital supports a number of programs to improve the quality of life including a Clean and Green Team, A Safe Streets Program, a new health sciences program at Pimlico Elementary/Middle School, and a housing improvement program to support seniors.
Park Heights Renaissance and Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Inc. help convene communities, administer programs that support schools and families, and foster new strategies to guide reinvestment activities.
A Bright Future
Hundreds of millions of dollars in new investment is planned including the redevelopment of Pimlico Race Track, the first phase of the Park Heights redevelopment plan, expansion of Sinai Hospital, affordable/workforce housing, a new library and more.
Other projects include Renaissance Row, Woodland Gardens I & II, a Cold Spring Transit Oriented Design project, Park West Health System’s Expansion project, the final renovations at CC Jackson Recreation Center, and the redevelopment of a 17-acre homeownership and senior rental project.
Amazing Amenities
Northwest Baltimore is fortunate to have a wide range of amenities. Enjoy the outdoors in Druid Hill Park, Cylburn Arboretum, and the Park Heights Urban Garden.
Park Heights Saints Football, Black Sox Baseball, Mt. Washington Soccer, the Jewish Community Center, sports at CC Jackson Recreation Center, and year round indoor swimming at the Callowhill Aquatic Center are just a few of the recreational opportunities for families.
